The Inuvik RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving an arson investigation.
On January 19th, the Inuvik Detachment were informed of a fire that was burning at a residence on Alder Drive at 4:17am. When officers arrived, the fire had already been extinguished. They found evidence to suggest that the fire had been intentionally set by an arsonist. The residence was only lightly damaged and there were no injuries.
This incident follows a previous incident on January 10th, where three people were spotted near Wolverine Road with a gas can just after 4:00am. Officers arrived at the area but were unable to find these suspects.
Inuvik Officers are now asking for the public’s help. They are seeking any possible video footage from Alder Drive and Wolverine Road on either January 10th or the 19th, between the hours of 3:30am to 4:30am.
