A few members of the Northwest Territories Council of Leaders will be in Ottawa this week for a special conference with the Federal Government.
The goal of this meeting is for NWT leaders to discuss the critical role that the North plays in Canada’s future. Present at the meeting will be Premier R.J. Simpson, Deputy Premier Caroline Wawzonek, Ɂek’wahtı̨dǝ́ Danny Gaudet of the Délı̨nę Got’ınę Government, Grand Chief Jackson Lafferty of the Tlicho Government, and Chairperson Charles McNeely of Sahtu Secretariat Inc.
The speakers will discuss topics such as housing, strategic infrastructure, climate change adaptation, addictions, and collaboration with Indigenous governments.
