Fire restrictions have been implemented immediately, prohibiting open flames on private and public land until August 2, 2024. These restrictions may be extended if necessary. They apply to the communities below and the surrounding lands not under federal jurisdiction. The rules also apply to all territorial parks and protected areas.

To prevent wildfires, these bans are being introduced because extreme weather and drought conditions have increased the danger. The bans aim to protect communities, at-risk areas, and wildland firefighters by reducing the likelihood of human-caused fires.
During the fire ban, you cannot:
-Start, tend, or use open fires outdoors, including in open fire pits or burn barrels
-Use firearms with incendiary or tracer ammunition
-Use exploding targets
-Set off fireworks or firecrackers
-Ignite sky lanterns
-Use signal flare devices or pyrotechnic bear bangers unless in an emergency
-Store flare devices, bear bangers, fireworks, or firecrackers in a way that may cause them to be ignited
-Burn permits are temporarily cancelled while this order is in effect
