No major changes were made in any of the NWT’s current wildfires, and work continues to progress at a steady pace.

No new fires have developed in some time, and firefighters from the NWT and Saskatchewan have made great progress in containing the north end of the fire near Cameron Hills. Crews are continuously supported by heavy machinery and aerial teams.

Ground crews continue to secure nearby structures. Smoke is visible in the area, and may be visible from as far as Alberta’s Highway 35, as well as Highway 1 in the NWT.

As with the previous update, only five of the current fires are receiving active attention, while the rest are listed as under control and are being closely monitored.
