No new fires were reported in the latest update from NWT Fire.

Firefighters from Saskatchewan are being recruited to help with the fire near the Alberta/NWT border. Airtankers have been making drops to try and reduce the intensity of the fire on the north end, and structure protection continues to be a top priority along Highway 1.

To the southwest of Fort Liard, a perimeter has been secured on the west side of the Liard River, after crews spent much time digging through hotspots up to four feet deep. Infrared scanning is being conducted along the perimeter to check for any remaining heat spikes.

An open flame was reported on the highway to Fort Simpson near kilometre marker 285. This area is surrounded by already burned fuel, so the fire has no path to grow. Smoke and flame may be visible from this fire, but it does not pose any threat.
