The City of Yellowknife is hoping to get more people visiting the Northern Capital.
The City has launched a new tourism brand, being billed as ‘Extraordinary Yellowknife’.
The new brand was created through external research with a local agency.
The Northwest Territories, as a whole, brought in over $200 million during the 2016-2017 tourism season.
Mayor Mark Heyck said in a statement that the City wants to ensure local businesses will feel the benefits from having more people visit YK.
“Tourism Development is a part or the City’s Economic Development Strategy. We are fortunate to be in a period of growth but we also want to ensure tourism has long-lasting benefits to our businesses and quality of life.“
