Police reported today that three people were arrested in the early morning hours as part of what they say is an ongoing investigation in the city of Yellowknife.
The incident occurred in the 5400 block of 52 Street, where it was reported to police that two individuals had been held against their will.
“Several days prior, police received a report that two people had been held against their will in the residence and later released. As part of the investigation into this matter, Yellowknife RCMP’s General Investigation Section, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and other police resources, executed a search warrant at the residence in question at approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning,” said police.
In connection to the incident, three people were arrested and one firearm was seized, along with other evidence, said the RCMP.
Officers said that the investigation remains ongoing and charges are forthcoming. The RCMP said that a public update will be issued once charges are laid.
