An investigation is currently underway after two individuals were arrested in Inuvik for trafficking drugs.
On March 27th, local officers obtained a search warrant for a residence in the Nova Apartment building after receiving reports that drugs were being sold from the location. Through the investigation, police were able to find 12 grams of cocaine, $700 in cash, multiple cell phones, and other drug trafficking supplies.
Three people have been arrested in this incident, and two have received charges. 19-year-old Darius Koffi-Sebio and 19-year-old Aymen Afadish, both from British Columbia, have each been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Koffi-Sebio has been additionally charged with Obstructing a Peace Officer.
Both individuals have already made court appearances, and have been returned to custody as the investigation continues.
