16 people were arrested and an undetermined amount of cocaine, fentanyl, and cash were seized during a series of drug busts in Yellowknife Tuesday.
In the early hours of the morning, separate searches took place at two residences in the city. A third search warrant was executed in the afternoon at a residence in Range Lake.
“These investigations have targeted a network of known drug traffickers who have been operating in the city of Yellowknife,” said RCMP Sergeant Dean Riou in a statement.
“Today has been the result of many months of investigation and intelligence gathering by the G Division RCMP.”
No charges have been laid at this time. Police have yet to calculate exactly how much money and illicit material was seized during the busts.
