The City of Yellowknife has shared the snow cleaning schedule for the week of December 30th.
On Monday, December 30th, Franklin Avenue will be cleaned from Gitzel Street to Matonabee Street. 53rd Street will be cleaned from Franklin Avenue to 49th Street, and 49th Avenue will be cleaned from 53rd Street to 47th Street.
On Tuesday, December 31st, Franklin Avenue will be cleaned from Matonabee Street to 53rd Street. 53rd Street will be cleaned from Franklin Avenue to 53rd Avenue, and 51st Street will be cleaned from 52nd Avenue to Fraser Tower.
As it is a statutory holiday, there will be no snow removal taking place on Wednesday, January 1st.
On Thursday, January 2nd, Franklin Avenue will be cleaned from 53rd Street to 47th Street. 52nd Street will be cleaned from 52nd Avenue to Bison Apartments, and 54th Street will be cleaned from 52nd Avenue to House 5305.
Finally, on Friday, January 3rd, Franklin Avenue will be cleaned from 43rd Street to School Draw Avenue, and 49th Avenue will be cleaned from 47th Street to 43rd Street.
Snow removal takes place overnight, so residents are reminded to make sure their vehicles are out of the way of workers. Any vehicles that are obstructing snow removal services will be towed away. Traffic delays are expected in the cleaning areas, so drivers are advised to plan an alternate route.
Additionally, curbside carts showed be moved out of the way before the cleanings take place.
