The City of Yellowknife has once again kicked off the holiday season with lights and laughs at the annual Santa Clause Parade.

Beginning at City Hall and Samba K’e Park, dozens upon dozens of local businesses, organizations, and individual groups gathered their floats and brought holiday cheer across the downtown core.

The theme for this year’s parade was The Grinch, which inspired many to dress themselves and their floats after their favourite scenes and imagrey from the beloved Dr. Suess tales and multiple feature films.

As always, the parade was concluded with a lavishly decorated float, and an appearance from Santa Clause himself!

Given the number of city residents who watch from the sidewalks every year, it would be hard to argue that the Santa Clause Parade may be one of Yellowknife’s most popular yearly events.
