Northwestel is advising northerners of a planned service outage that is coming this week.
Due to maintenance, Northwestel services are scheduled to be temporarily taken down on Wednesday, September 25th, from 1:00am to 7:00am. The maintenance involves upgrades to Northwestel’s technology.
Internet and enterprise data services outside of Yellowknife are expected to be disrupted. Within Yellowknife, local calling services will be disrupted, while copper-based technology, long-distance calling, and cellular services are expected to remain functional.
Northwestel has stated that they are working with their partners to minimize any impacts that will come from this maintenance.
