The remains of a missing Hay River resident have been found in the High Level area.
Alberta RCMP officers had located the remains on August 15th in Mackenzie County, and were delivered to the Chief Medical Examiner on August 19th.
The remains have finally been identified as 41-year-old Tyler Peterson from Hay River. Peterson was first reported as missing on July 14th, and the Medical Examiner has determined the cause of his death to be a homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken charge of the investigation, and is working in collaboration with the NWT Major Crimes Unit.
