Due to a recent structure fire that took place on August 8th, Yellowknife’s Wildcat Café is being forced to close its doors for the rest of the season.
Work is already being done on restoring the restaurant to make sure that it is ready to open again next summer.
Chef Niki Mckenzie, the hired contractor for the Café, said that “Myself and my team have had an incredible time serving our community as the latest iteration of the Wildcat Café. The City is working hard behind the scenes to get everything back up and running for the 2025 summer season, where we will bring you a new version of nostalgic classics, northern flair and as many locally grown vegetables we can get our hands on!”
Johanna Elliot, the Facilities Manager with the City of Yellowknife, added that they are looking forward to making the repairs necessary so that residents will be able to enjoy the Café once again.
