Little Buffalo River Crossing Park Closed due to Fire Danger

The Little Buffalo River Crossing Territorial Park near Fort Resolution has been temporarily closed.

This temporary closure is due to the increasing fire danger growing closer to the park. The closure is already in effect, and will remain in place until it is deemed safe to open the Park. Should it be opened before July 30th, it will still be subject to a fire ban until such time as that too is lifted.

The fire ban will not be lifted before July 30th. Camp stoves, enclosed barbeques, and propane-fueled cooking and heating devices are permitted for use in NWT Parks, but must be placed within regulation fire pits and should not emit a flame more than 0.5 metres in diameter and 0.5 metres in height.

Additional information on fire bans in territorial parks can be found on the NWT Parks website.
