The Fort Good Hope fire has continued to burn throughout the night, and has reached the community. As of 10:00 am on Sunday morning, no structures have been lost.

Fire crews were able to hold back the fire long enough to allow moisture levels to rise throughout the night. As a result, the intensity of the fire was reduced as the fire approached the community.

While an exact number is not yet available, the fire is expected to have surpassed 200 hectares in size.

Progress has begun on structure protection and more equipment will be arriving throughout Sunday. Crews will be patrolling the area searching for hohtspots.

Aircrafts will continue to make water drops to help slow the fire’s growth, protect structures, and aid ground crews.

While current weather forecasts are expected to support the fire, it should be less intense than on Saturday.
