The partial fire ban that was in place in Hay River has now been relaxed.
The nearest active fire to the community is SS007-24, which is located to the west of Enterprise, and is currently listed as “being monitored.” The Fire Danger Rating from the Department of Environment and Climate Change is listed as “Low” for Hay River over the next several days, and the same is true for most other South Slave communities.
The community still urges residents and locals to remain cautious with their fires, and to make sure that they are fully extinguished before leaving the area.
There are no other fire restrictions in the South Slave region.
