Deadline Approaching for Arts Operating Fund

The deadline is approaching for this year’s Arts Operating Fund from the GNWT.

This fund helps various art organizations with their operational costs, such as staffing, program administration, operating spaces, and other expenses.

Applicants can apply for up to $200,000 per year. The fund itself has an annual budget of $311,000.

The deadline to apply for the Fund is January 31st. In order to be eligible for the fund, art organizations must be officially registered and in good standing with the NWT Societies Act. Organizations must also have existed for at least one year prior to the deadline and provide opportunities for education and creation in the arts sector.

Organizations must have their headquarters located within the NWT with at least one part-time or full-time staff member.

Applicants must not be receiving funding from either the Medium Arts Project Fund, or the Large Arts Project Fund.

Finally, any applicants to the Arts Operating Fund must have delivered and reported on at least two Medium or Large Arts projects in the prior three years, an NWT Arts Council Grant, or equivalent activity.
