The Yellowknife Guild of Arts and Crafts has just opened registration for their various Fall programs.
The Guild is composed of volunteer artists, students, and instructors who wish to share their hobbies and passions with other Yellowknife residents. The Guild was first founded in 1946, and ever since then has been a great way for newcomers to the city to learn new skills as well as socialize with their neighbors.
This season will see several pottery classes and workshops, which will include lessons on building by hand, and on the wheel. Beginner, intermediate and advanced pottery classes and workshops are offered during all class sessions and student spots are always in high demand.
The Guild is also offering mixed media classes, which will demonstrate skills like weaving, knitting, felting, stained glass and silversmithing. Classes and workshops in other disciplines, ranging from wood burning to soap making, are offered as permitted by interest and availability of instructors.
All of these classes will be held on the first and second floors of the Guild building at 113 Kam Lake Road. More information, as well as registration, can be found on the Guild website.
