The NWT ECC has indicated their intent is to stay in Hay River until the job is done.
According to the Town, light winds assisted work being done and the fire showed little growth yesterday and overnight.
Air crews say they were able to take flight last night and complete fire suppression efforts due to clearer visibility. The Paradise Gardens area was extinguished through helicopter bucketing.
NWT Fire says blacklining the area has continued and ground crews were able to create access points on another area of the flames.
Additionally, sprinkler systems are being deployed around Mile 5 properties and sprinklers at 553 area were installed and will strengthen today.
Fire protection systems have also been deployed at areas near Miron Drive and within the Industrial Area.
