The Town of High Level has issued a statement regarding the status of NWT evacuees fleeing to Alberta.
According to the municipality, the High Level Sports Complex located at 10101 105 Avenue is open as a registration centre for fire evacuees. Snacks and refreshments are available.
Anyone en route south who do not have pre-arranged accomodations with friends and family are instructed to continue south on Highway 35 to Grande Prairie to the Reception Centre located at the Alliance Church.
High Level says Alberta Transport contractor has set up fuel service at Steen River for anyone in need of fuel to continue to High Level. Staff has been posted to the north of the highway to issue jerry cans for those who require fuel.
