The wildfire close to the Ingraham Trail remains ‘highly active’ and was last mapped at 40,723 hectares burned.
According to NWT Fire, the blaze was active yesterday but did not grow significantly to the south towards any infrastructure.
However, NWT Fire says there is a possibility it will grow significantly to the south with potential impacts to north Prosperous, north Prelude, and River Lake, but an evacuation order has been issued for any cabins in these areas.
The Ingraham Trail and Territorial parks are not currently at risk as of the most recent report.
“Heavy northwest winds expected tomorrow. A challenging day ahead,” NWT Fire says.
