On July 29th, Tuktoyaktuk RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver late in the evening.
The call came in at 8:50 pm, where officers were informed of a 21-year-old man who was refusing to comply with his own release conditions for unrelated charges, on top of driving while impaired. The man was driving an ATV around the community with two passengers when police arrived.
The man was determined to be impaired by alcohol and provided breath samples that determined the man’s blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit. Charges of impaired driving, impaired driving over the legal limit and driving while prohibited are pending.
