The GNWT is looking for two members of the public to join the Art Selection Committee for a two-year term starting September 1st.
The Committee’s job is to look at possible new additions to the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre’s (PWNHC) Mezzanine Gallery exhibit space on an annual basis. This is the first time that members of the art community are being invited to have a say in what is displayed in the Heritage Centre.
The Mezzanine Gallery provides artists with a space to showcase their art to the public. For six month periods, it hosts temporary exhibits that feature art representing the cultures and history of the NWT. The next call for Mezzanine Gallery art show submissions will take place in July 2023, with decisions being made after the committee is formed.
The GNWT greatly values art and other creative pursuits, as they play a key role in preserving its culture. They are committed to making sure that art is open to all ages, and to allow northern art to be seen by more people.
Any NWT artists, craftspeople, and art enthusiasts who are interested in joining the committee can find more information and apply by clicking here.
