The Town of Hay River has issued an additional order to anyone remaining or evacuating from the municipality.
“We ask for people not to drive on the residential roads beside the river in Hay River,” an official from the Town of Hay River said.
Residential roads beside the river include: Riverview Drive, McBryan Drive, and Miron Drive.
According to the town, anyone remaining in the area is hampering emergency efforts and putting a strain on disaster relief services.
“We would ask that they evacuate immediately,” the official added.
