Update: Phone disruptions fixed

Update May 13 10:25 a.m.: The territorial RCMP says that, the phone systems for local RCMP detachment “1111” numbers are operating normally “to the best of their knowledge.”

Disruptions to calls being forwarded to the RCMP Operational Communications Centre (OCC) in Yellowknife have also been fixed, according to the statement.

“NT RCMP thanks the citizens of Northwest Territories for their patience as we work to ensure call lines are operational.  We thank our partner agencies for their efforts to address this as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson for the RCMP said in a statement.

The RCMP is warning about interruptions to cell service, long distance calling and landline services.

This includes the local RCMP #1111 and may affect 911 service calls.
