Fill the Net food drive coming to YK

On Saturday February 20th, the YK Food Bank will be hosting the “Fill the Net” food drive in support of the YK Cares program.

YK Cares was formed in 2015 as a community initiative where volunteers pack easy to prepare weekend meal kits which are then distributed to children in need by teachers at schools within Yellowknife.

The pre-packaged weekend meal kits will be available at the Yellowknife Co-op for shoppers to purchase for donation to the YK Cares program.

The objective is to fill as many hockey nets as possible to meet the current demand within YK schools, which is nearly 1000 meal kits.

The YK Cares program is currently managed by the YK Food Bank.
