The Yellowknife Artist’s Cooperative is hosting their first event of the year, called Expedition Old Town.
The event is a walking tour of historic Yellowknife, guiding residents through various attractions in the Old Town area. The walk includes a bannock tasting at Bullock’s Bistro, a free-style dance session and souvenir glassmaking run by Old Town Glassworks.
The event is taking place on Saturday March 6 & Sunday March 7, with time slots available from 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m.
The first time slot will be guided by Old Town celebrity guest Wayne Guy. Guy is a longtime Yellowknifer who works as an architect, designing several buildings throughout town and also designed the Inuvik Family Center, which contains the most northernly swimming pool in the world.
Each walk starts at the top of the hour and participants must pre-book with people in their social bubble, with a maximum of eight people per group.
The walking tours start at Old Town Glassworks at 3510 McDonald Drive.
