For the second time in a week, staff at a Yellowknife store have been threatened with pepper spray.

Police say employees at Winks convenience store (aka Mac’s), on Forrest Drive, were approached by a man carrying a knife and “what is believed to be pepper spray” at around 2am on Sunday morning.

Nobody was hurt, but staff handed over an undisclosed sum of money before the robber fled.

Police dogs tracked the man to the Yellowknife Arena but were unable to locate him.

Just five days earlier, an employee at the city’s Shell gas station had been attacked in similar circumstances. In that attack, two suspects – one carrying a spray – left the worker needing treatment for minor injuries.

RCMP can’t confirm that the two incidents are directly connected, but both investigations are ongoing.

Surveillance footage of the suspects is available in both cases. See the photos on this page for images taken from Winks, and click here for images of the Shell Station suspects.

Police want to hear from anyone who has any information about the suspects shown.
