A Fort Resolution man has been charged with first-degree murder after a 27-year-old man was found dead in the community on Sunday.
Fort Resolution RCMP responded to a call late on Canada Day, where the man was found unresponsive.
He was confirmed dead by a local medical practitioner in the community.
The Northwest Territories RCMP and NWT Coroner Services are investigating the man’s death, along with the Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.
Chad Beck, 30, of Fort Resolution has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
Beck has been remanded and will appear in Territorial Court tomorrow.
Because the investigation is ongoing, police are not releasing any more information at this time.
