RCMP take part in the fight against bullying

Yesterday was ‘Pink Shirt Day’.

The day is used to help take a stand against bullying. Many organizations, businesses and groups took part in the day. That would include the NWT RCMP in Yellowknife.

Yellowknife RCMP members donned pink uniform shirts to show their support for the many people, either in the City or around the world, who have experienced some kind of bullying.

Cst. Heather Cosenzo shared the RCMP’s thoughts on the day.

This is an initiative that I feel strongly about, and I know so many police officers do as well, and we collectively thought it would be appropriate to show our support today by wearing pink uniform shirts.

Senior management, General Duty members, and Community Policing at the Yellowknife Detachment all took part by wearing pink.
