If you were counting on someone picking up your old Christmas tree from outside your home this year, you’ll end up with it just sitting there on the curb.
In the past, inmates from the North Slave Correction Centre have provided a Christmas tree pick up service, but this year they are ‘unable to offer their services’ according to the city.
Now, residents looking to get rid of their trees will have to dump them themselves.
The city is inviting people to drop off their old Christmas trees at the Solid Waste Facility free of charge.
For anyone who wants to hold onto their tree a little longer, they have from now until the end of January to bring it to the facility.
