Rob and Robert are two of three Bush League DJs, They have always had a love for electronic music and over the last few years they have self-taught themselves the ins and outs of DJing and have done a handful of performances so far. They are very excited to show the north what they can do this year at Folk On The Rocks!

At The age of 20 a Young farm boy from Ontario,Freshly graduated from radio school was looking for an adventure. That's when on a whim he accepted a morning show job in Yellowknife,NT and man what an adventure it's been! Hey there, I'm Tyler and I've been the Host of True North Mornings since the end of 2018, But i've been in radio since 2015. When I'm not telling you about the weird stories I've found on the web or retelling true stories about alien encounters right here in the north, I love to watch movies and play video games all while informing my girlfriend on the next true crime documentary we should watch. Yes all the calls on Swap Shop are real. And yes I do actually own all the shirts you see me wear and thanks for listening.

“Abrimot are everywhere” in Yellowknife’s Mots dans la taïga: In pictures

Festival de poésie arctique Mots dans la taïga at École Allain St-Cyr returned to Yellowknife this week. The "Boreal magic"  of the poetic trail is a space of living language and transformation. More than one hundred students created the hundreds of abrimots that are on the ground, in the trees and tucked into hideaway corners of the snowbanks along the trail. GNWT's Department of Infrastructure has closed the Mackenzie Valley Winter Road: Wrigley - Délı̨nę Junction. On Wednesday afternoon, the Edzo-Rae Ice Road saw a planned seasonal closure. The planned closure was announced earlier this week and is part of seasonal changes that will also see the Dettah Ice Road close later this month.

The Annual Great Ptarmi Hunt returns to Yellowknife this weekend

Yellowknifers are gearing up for the Great Ptarmi Hunt this weekend on the Frame Lake trail.  As one longtime Yellowknifer Andrew Brohart put it, ptarmis are pint-sized plush ptarmigans—”Yellowknife’s very own twist on the Easter egg hunt.” “100 Ptarmis will be hidden along the Framelake Trail from the Pool to the Legislative Assembly,” said organizers.
