Two snowmobiles stolen in Yellowknife in as many days

Police in Yellowknife are investigating separate reports of stolen snowmobiles in the city.

On Sunday, RCMP say a 2006 Skidoo Expedition was stolen from a residence in Old Town. The theft took place shortly after 2:30pm when keys were left in the ignition.

The following day, police received a second report of a stolen snowmobile. This time a black and yellow 2003 Polaris Edge was taken from a Niven Lake residence sometime overnight.

RCMP are reminding the public to “lock their snowmobiles, and other recreational vehicles when not in use, or unattended,” according to a statement issued Tuesday.

Police have been making patrols looking for both stolen vehicles. If you have any information, contact Yellowknife RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
