Northwestel introduces Pulse TV to Yellowknife, other northern cities

Yellowknife, NWT – Northwestel says it is introducing Pulse TV, a new television platform, to a number of northern cities including Yellowknife.

A press release from the telecommunications company says the service will also be offered in Fort Nelson and Whitehorse.

Northwestel says Pulse TV combines digital TV and Internet for the first time in northern Canada.

With the service, residential customers can control and manage television programming with smart phones or tablets.

The company has been transitioning customers from analog to digital television in recent months in order to accommodate new service offerings like Pulse TV.

By phasing out analog television service, Northwestel says it has made large amounts of bandwidth available for the addition of numerous new digital offerings.
