Photos: Remembrance Day embraced in snowy Yellowknife

Undeterred by heavy snow, Yellowknifers paused to remember during Wednesday morning’s parade through the city.

The procession was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at Yellowknife’s École St Patrick High School.

Meanwhile, in Ottawa, Sheila Anderson – this year’s Silver Cross Mother, and a Yellowknife resident – laid a wreath on behalf of all mothers who have lost children in military service.

Mrs Anderson’s son, Cpl Jordan Anderson, was killed by a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan eight years ago.

Below, we’ve gathered a selection of images from the ceremonies in both Yellowknife and Ottawa.
