R.C.M.P charge two in third drug raid of the week in Yellowknife

Yellowknife, NWT – Yellowknife R.C.M.P say they have seized narcotic pills from a home in the School Draw area in their third drug raid in the city this week.

Police say 88 fentanyl pills, cash and a small amount of crack cocaine and marijuana were seized during the raid, which took place on Wednesday.

Fentanyl is a synthetic opiate, more concentrated than heroin, prescribed in patch form for advanced pain management.

The Mounties say it has gained popularity as a recreational drug in recent years pressed into homemade pills.

Rory Quentin Moore and Lillian Paniloo of Yellowknife are charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of cocaine and marijuana.

Both are scheduled to make their next court appearance on Oct 21. in Yellowknife.
