Third annual N.W.T Pride festival rolls into Yellowknife

Yellowknife, NWT – The third annual N.W.T Pride Festival kicks off in Yellowknife Friday night with a brand new act.

The festival’s Arts Coordinator, Iman Kassam, explains what people can expect to see during the first ever Queerlesque show at Black Knight.

“I think what makes it really unique is that it’s a live performance where artists of all genders, identities and sexualities come together and put on an amazing performance that celebrates identity.”

Kassam says events will go on until Sunday night when the festival wraps up with a performance by Ill Scarlett at the Folk on the Rocks Beer Garden site.

She says events are open to everyone and people are asked to pay what they can.

Kassam says she has been a part of the festival since its inception, and it has grown each and every year.
