N.W.T Coroner’s Office identifies body found in Mackenzie River as Rachel Littlejohn

Yellowknife, NWT – The N.W.T. Coroner’s Office says a body found in the Mackenzie River near Fort Providence has been identified as that of Rachel Littlejohn.

Littlejohn of Lakefield, Ontario went missing from Hay River at the end of May.

Two people from Fort Providence reportedly found her body last Wednesday near where the Horn and the Mackenzie Rivers meet.

The coroner’s office says it has received the preliminary results from an autopsy in Edmonton.

Last week police said the death is not considered to be suspicious.
