RCMP investigating sudden death of teenager in Fort Liard

Police have confirmed they are investigating the sudden death of a teenager in Fort Liard, NWT.

RCMP have issued no formal identification, though family and friends have identified the deceased as a young teenage girl with connections to Fort Simpson.

Police say their investigation began shortly after 9am on Saturday, October 3, near Riverview Road in the hamlet.

A cause of death has not been conclusively determined. RCMP say an update will follow when more information can be released.
