“It’s just a great opportunity for us to tell the story of the Northwest Territories and Canada’s Arctic and that what happens here matters. We have to continue telling people that the development of the Arctic is very important to other jurisdictions from an economic standpoint. Trade and commerce flows to other jurisdictions in PNWER when it happens in the Arctic.”

Other PNWER members include British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Montana and Alaska among others.

Ramsay says participation in the organization reflects the priority of the Legislative Assembly to build a strong and sustainable future for the territory built on partnerships.
