Yellowknife, NWT – TerraX Minerals first assay results show promising signs for gold deposits near Yellowknife.
The company’s project lies on the prolific Yellowknife greenstone belt and covers 15 kilometers of strike length on the northern extension of the shear system that hosts the high-grade Con and Giant gold mines.
TerraX officials say test results there have showed abundant visible gold.
David Connelly is the company’s strategic advisor.
“A usual standard that would get people encouraged are results like five or 10 grams per ton. The issue with grab samples is that a prospector’s eyes are attracted to the best rocks so they can sometimes be positively biased. When you start getting numbers like 346 grams or 547 grams per ton it certainly is a very encouraging sign.”
The findings were released in a report that came out Thursday.
Many business leaders think the project has tremendous potential for economic spinoffs in Yellowknife.
