Biplane lands on Yellowknife’s Deh Cho Boulevard

Yellowknife, NWT – Yellowknife R.C.M.P say they responded to a call for service involving the emergency landing of an aircraft on Deh Cho Boulevard near Kam Lake Industrial Park over the noon hour Friday.

Police say the aircraft, which was to participate in the airshow this weekend, reported experiencing mechanical difficulties.

The pilot informed authorities of the situation and identified a location where he could land without endangering anyone on the ground.

The Mounties say the pilot was not injured, though the aircraft’s landing gear was slightly damaged.

The aircraft has since been transported to the airport for repairs.

R.C.M.P say they are assisting Transport Canada in the matter.
