Blockade set up at Cameron Falls Trail due to bear sightings

Wildlife officials are asking Yellowknife residents to refrain from using the Cameron Falls Trail because of recent bear sightings in the area.

A temporary blockade has been set up near the Hidden Lake Territorial Park parking lot, which is located along the Ingraham Trail roughly 50 kilometres outside of town.

The barrier has been set up for public safety and will remain there until further notice.

Residents are also being asked not to feed wildlife and to report any bear sightings to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
