New Ricky’s Location Opens in Yellowknife

For the city that could already be considered the culinary centre of the North, the doors to a new restaurant have just opened in the City of Yellowknife.

Located right beside the Mavinjus Games and Collectables shop in Centre Square Mall is the new location for Ricky’s Family Restaurant! Over the last week, Ricky’s has been doing various dry run events and even a VIP night to get themselves ready, and as of 7:00am on Friday, March 14th, they are officially open!

Satwant Dhillon, one of the supervisors of the restaurant, explained that she and the rest of the team are feeling very good with where they are now.

“I am feeling very confident about it. We’ve had soft openings for the last two days and we did pretty good. We got a very good response from our guests, and I believe it’s going to be really good!”

Dhillon also shared what she believes Ricky’s is bringing to the Yellowknife dining scene that sets them apart from other eateries.

“Ricky’s has everything for everyone. It’s kids friendly and we have a separate menu for the kids, and we have breakfast, lunch, dinner, we have brunch, so I feel like there’s no proper place you dine in at and have a breakfast at 7am in the morning. So we open 7am until 8pm, and we serve all-day breakfast! You can come and get breakfast whenever you want!”

Yellowknife Mayor Rebecca Alty was present at the VIP night as well, and was given the honour of officially opening the restaurant with a ribbon cutting!
