The CDETNO group will be sending a team overseas to attend a few meetings with Destination Canada.
These conferences will be taking place in two sets. The first set will be on February 14th and 15th in Paris, France, and on February 18th to 20th in Douala, Cameroon. These meetings are designed to improve Francophone immigration and networking in an effort to bring skilled workers into the NWT.
In attending these meetings, the CDETNO team will be showcasing the opportunities to be found in the NWT by promoting local employers. They will be helping companies who wish to take further part in the recruitment process.
Francois Afane, the Executive Director of CDETNO, said in a statement that ” Increasing the population of the NWT and, more importantly, attracting qualified bilingual workersto meet the needs of the local economy remain strategic priorities of the NWT government that CDETNO continues to translate into action by representing NWT employers at thisimportant international event,”
In an effort to assist employers in preparing for and better understanding how Destination Canada works, two information sessions will be held at the Explorer Hotel and online on January 21 and 22, 2025 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
