City of Yellowknife Seeking Applications for New Homelessness Projects

The City of Yellowknife is looking for applications from Non-Government Organizations who are interested in running projects to support the city’s homeless population.

Back in 2023, the City was given a four-year extension to the federal Reaching Home funding agreement. This extension extended from April 1st of 2024 to March 31st of 2028. For the upcoming fiscal year, approximately $535,000 of the reaching Home funding will be made available to projects that provide aid to the homeless population of Yellowknife.

Project proposals can be sent in to the City’s Homelessness Division, with an application deadline of January 31st at noon. It is requested that projects proposals focus on impactful strategies that align with the Government of Canada’s directives as laid out in the Reaching Home campaign.

After the deadline, proposals will be considered and decided upon by the Community Advisory Board on Homelessness in March. Once the decisions have been made, the successful applicants will be contacted as soon as possible.

Applications can be sent to [email protected].
