Sue Cullen named interim CEO of Yellowknife’s Stanton Hospital

Sue Cullen has been named interim chief executive officer of the Stanton Territorial Health Authority.

A registered nurse by training, Cullen has senior management and leadership experience in healthcare sectors in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining the GNWT in 2013, Cullen was CEO of the Hay River Health and Social Services Authority since 2010. She also acted as interim CEO of the Beaufort Delta Health and Social Services Authority in 2012.

“I am excited by the opportunity to move back into health and social services operations, and support developing the key role that Stanton will play in the new integrated territorial system,” Cullen said in a statement issued Tuesday morning.

Former Stanton CEO Brenda Fitzgerald resigned from the post in July after less than two years on the job. Cullen’s interim assignment is effective September 10, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

Stanton is set to undergo a major five-year redevelopment beginning later this fall.
