Winners Declared for YK Shop Local Campaign

Yellowknife’s Shop Local Holiday Initiative has found its winners!

Every year for the holidays, the City of Yellowknife launches ShopYK, a campaign to encourage locals to do their shopping at businesses run by YK-based owners.

The initiative ran from November 12th to December 12th and saw thirty-two different businesses that opted to participate. This year’s campaign saw a total of 1,283 submissions sent in by city residents, and $212,191 spent at local businesses. Participating shoppers were randomly selected to win prizes in gift cards to the participating businesses, and on December 13th, the three grand prizes were awarded.
