Yellowknife women’s golf tournament raises 25K for AVENS

A charity golf tournament in Yellowknife raised $25,000 for AVENS, the NWT seniors’ housing and care organization.

The Adlair Aviation & Ryfan Electric Women’s Tournament was held on Saturday at the Yellowknife Golf Club. Organizers say it was one of the most successful tournaments to date.

Funds were raised through registration and a live auction. Officials with AVENS say the money will go towards much-needed medical and rehabilitation equipment for the seniors’ community.

Just this week, a new on-site dental clinic opened at the complex.

AVENS operates four facilities in the city, including Aven Cottages, Aven Court, Aven Manor and Aven Ridge.
